Patricia Swanger MT. PLEASANT - Patricia "Tricia" Brooks Swanger passed away on June 21, 2023 at the age of 76 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. She was born on December 11, 1946 in Savannah, Georgia to Joseph Edward Brooks and Lena T. Brooks. Tricia was a sweet and caring Christian woman who lived a full life surrounded by her loved ones and animals. Tricia is survived by her beloved husband of many years, Dan H. Swanger, and her three children: J. Brooks Swanger, D. Wesley Swanger, and Rachel L. Swanger. She is also survived by her sister, Carol B. Lewis, her nephew, Kevin J. Lewis (Kelly), her niece, Amanda L. Walker (Jeremy), and her three children, Kaiden Lewis, Rowan Walker, and John Walker. After graduation from Armstrong State College and then obtaining her Master's Degree from Georgia Southern University, she taught English and Art before counseling in middle school. Tricia's career highlight began when she founded the Guidance Department at Christ Our King School in Mount Pleasant, where she served as guidance counselor for 21 years before retiring. She was a dedicated and compassionate professional who touched the lives of many students throughout her career. Tricia was a longtime member of Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, where she worshipped and found solace. She had a passion for painting and gardening and spent much of her free time pursuing these hobbies and tending her beloved pets. A funeral service to honor Tricia's life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11 am at Stuhr's Funeral Chapel in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Burial will be Monday, June 26, 2023 at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, GA.
