Patricia Shrader Obituary

Patricia Ann Pettit Shrader MT. PLEASANT - Patricia Ann Pettit Shrader, 75, of Mt. Pleasant SC, passed away at her home on Sept. 17, 2017, with her family and friends by her side. Born in Pattonville, TX on Nov. 5, 1941, the daughter of Mildred (Floyd) and Dixie Pettit. Patricia was the loving wife of David Marshall Shrader; loving and devoted mother of Steve Krupka, Cheryl Krupka and Karen Gettier (Scott); stepmother to Mark Shrader (Jess) and Heather Shrader; proud grandmother (Mema) of Dillon Krupka, Karys Gettier, Cal Gettier, Kristin Gettier and Trey Shrader; loving sister to Vickie Sullivan (husband Pat) and brother Derrel Pettit (deceased) and his wife Lana Pettit; "adopted daughter" Karen Braner; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School ('59) in Dallas, Texas, where she started her family with Ronnie Krupka. She began her career as a valued executive administrative assistant; retiring from the Diocese of Charleston where she worked with the CFO and the Bishop. Pat also served as the Charter Secretary of the Northern VA Country Western Dance Association, and the Charter Secretary of the Kansas Prairie Pickers Association. In 1987, she married Dave which began a true love story - always holding hands. That lasted 30 years and will be a "Bridge Across Forever" (a book by Richard Bach) that exemplified their life's journey. Pat always loved visiting her family, and after her retirement enjoyed traveling through Europe and in their RV throughout the USA and Canada. In the more recent years, she very much enjoyed spending her time in their RV in the NC mountains (Linville Land Harbor) for the summer. Pat loved listening and playing bluegrass music with her bass, and dancing with Dave everywhere there was live music. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Two services will be held: 1) Sept. 23rd, 11:00am at Crossnore Presbyterian Church, Crossnore, NC and 2) Sept. 30, 11:00am Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Sullivan's Island SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made online to Hospice of Charleston (www.gentivahospicefoundation.org/Donate.asp) or by check to 4975 Lacrosse Rd., Suite 200, N. Charleston, SC 29406, or call (855)951-6150 for specific instructions. Or you can contribute to American Cancer Society www.americancancersociety.org, or by check P.O. I am truly devastated by your passing Pat Shrader and will miss you for the rest of my life. You were such a comfort and loving soulmate to me. I will celebrate our many beautiful memories of our daily life together. Dancing, playing bluegrass music, traveling Europe and the USA and Canada, starting and ending our daily lives together wishing each other a loving embrace, kiss and "I LOVE YOU FOREVER" followed usually by "I LOVE YOU MORE". Using our pet names for each other, Pat "WOOKIE" and Dave "WOOKIE 2". I no longer will be able to embrace, snuggle (that you loved so much), Kiss your sweet lips except in my mind until I can join you in Heaven. You and I agreed that we each would prepare a room in Heaven for the other so we would then be TOGETHER FOR ETERNITY.
So, watch over all of us until we meet again in Heaven in God's GOLDEN EMBRACE.
Love You Wookie! Forever!
Your Wookie 2, Dave Shrader
