Patricia DuPre Obituary

Patricia Roehl DuPre MT. PLEASANT - Patricia Roehl DuPre, 82 years in age, entered into eternal rest and was received into God's merciful care on Friday, April 28, 2023. Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy. "Patty" was born on December 26, 1940 in East Aurora, New York to John and Marjorie Roehl. Her immediate family had many historical ties to Ithaca, New York and Cornell University. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Tin DuPre; her brother, Billy Roehl and his wife, LuAnne, of Myrtle Beach and her children; Ann Karst, her husband, Mark, Sonny DuPre, his wife, Shawn, and Andrew DuPre, his wife, Allen. Her grandchildren are Jordan, Marshall, John, Gervais, Hamlin, Binks and Hugh; and her great-grandchildren, Eliza, Carter, Charlotte, Hudson, and Evelyn. Her family moved to South Carolina in 1949, where she graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1958 and from Winthrop University, with a English degree, in 1962. She was meek, compassionate, and fiercely intelligent. She loved God and waited on Him patiently. Her wait is now over. She loved her family and was at her happiest when they were all together. She had a large family, with an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved plants, flowers, travelling, and music. She loved language and read continuously. She and Tin traveled the entirety of North America in an RV while in their sixties, giving them many memories to share. Her church home was St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Mt. Pleasant, where she sought to know Jesus through worship, studies, and prayer for many years. Death has a sting, but it does not have the final word. Jesus has that authority, and this she came to know and trust. She will be missed by many, as she was a blessing to many. Her selflessness was beautiful and undoubtedly pleasing to God. A memorial service will be held May 10, 2023 in St. Andrew's Historic Church, 440 Whilden St., Mt. Pleasant, SC at 3:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Three Rivers Outreach. PO Box 1658, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29465 A memorial message may be sent to the family on our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com. Hi Sonny and Shawn!
It was so good to see y´all but so sorry for the reason. Sonny, I thought you paid such a beautiful tribute to your mother. I loved what you said describing a mother. In fact, I´d like you to share that quote with me. I thought it was so accurate. Mothers do worry and they do love you so much and so well.
Anyway, off to London tomorrow and I will give Simon your love.
Know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you adjust to life without your mother.
Blessings!
Patti

Patty and her husband are the reason I found the church I attend today. I offer Tin and his family my condolences, and may God Bless this family.
