Patricia Browning Corbin YONGES ISLAND, SC - Patricia Rae Browning Corbin, 93, loving wife, proud mother, grandmother, great-great- grandmother and aunt. A legacy and the Matriarch of the Corbin family of Yonges Island, South Carolina, entered eternal rest Friday, January 27, 2023. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in Christ St. Paul's Parish Church, 4981 Chapel Road at 11:00 am, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service in the parish church hall. Interment following at Christ St. Paul's Parish Churchyard. From humble beginnings, she bore seven amazing children and put roots in the heart of the Low Country. The family property aptly named "Corbin County" located in Yonges Island, South Carolina, lines the banks of the Toogoodoo River. It is the place of tradition, where siblings, children and grandchildren gather to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. It is the place that built us, by the woman that made us all and taught us how to love. Patricia was born January 21, 1930 in Columbia, South Carolina, daughter of the late Russell Ray Browning, Sr. and the late Callis Marie Tanner Browning. Patricia is preceded in death by her husband and the Patriarch of the Corbin family, James Edward Corbin, Jr. They were married 61 years. Together they founded Metal Trades Inc., of Yonges Island, South Carolina in 1962. Today Metal Trades Inc. continues as a family owned and operated heavy steel fabrication and ship repair business. She is also preceded in death by her best friend and sister-in-law, Martha "Marty" Corbin Banks, and her beloved granddaughter, Melissa "Missy" Corbin Williams. Patricia is survived by seven children: Eddie Corbin (Marvia), Rusty Corbin (Margaux), David Corbin (Winnie), Freddie Corbin (Patsy), Teddy Corbin (Lori), Patti Corbin, and Angie Corbin (Keith Rentz) all of Yonges Island, South Carolina; brother, Russell Ray "Buddy" Browning Jr (Shirley) of Columbia, South Carolina; sister, Betty Jean Miller of Mt. Pleasant; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren, five nieces, six nephews, five great- nieces, three great-nephews, six great-great-nephews, and four great-great-nieces. There are not enough words to convey the impact she has made not only on her family but all who knew her. She will live on forever in each of us and she will be missed eternally.
