Nell Byrd Obituary

BYRD, Nell Relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. John Evans Byrd are invited to attend the funeral services of the latter in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Friday, March 30, 2007 at Eleven O'clock. Interment will be private. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Thursday from Five until Seven O'clock. Nell was born in Georgetown County, SC, November 22, 1938, the daughter of J.M. Welch and Alma Matthews Welch. She was a long time house guide at Magnolia Plantation and a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She was a wonderful "Nanny" and dearly loved her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of Charleston, SC; 1 son, John Evans Byrd, III and his wife Jennifer of Summerville, SC; 1 daughter, Martha Jan Pitts and her husband Michael of Kettering, OH; 1 brother, Kenneth Welch and his wife Crystal of Florence, SC; 1 sister, Janice Anderson of Florence, SC; 4 granddaughters, Erin Pitts, Gabbey, Sophie, and Anna Grace Byrd; 1 grandson, Ryan Pitts.
