Nancy Sifford Obituary

Nancy P. Sifford Matthews, NC - Nancy Price Sifford, age 74, passed away January 6, 2022, at her home in Matthews, NC, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. She was loved and survived by her family, Janice Price of Matthews; Susan and Ron Long of Charlotte; Russell Price of Charlotte; nephew, Russ Price, and niece, Amanda Frederick (David) and children of Gastonia. Dear Charleston, SC, friends, Marie and Bill Welch and Dennis and Travis Connolly also mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Ernest J. Sifford, Jr. in 2017, and her parents, Bruce and Margaret Price of Indian Trail, NC. Nancy graduated from Sun Valley High School, Monroe, NC, and Presbyterian School of Nursing, Charlotte, NC. Nancy and Jerry lived in Charlotte for years before adopting Charleston, SC, as their home. Nancy retired as a Risk Manager at the Medical University of South Carolina. She was a member of St. Philip's Church where she was an active member of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the SC Daughters of the American Revolution and several garden clubs in Charleston. Nancy relocated to Matthews, NC, to be near her family where she quickly made many friendships in her new community. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, January 16, 2022, at 2PM at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Rd., Charlotte 28227. The family will greet friends following the service. Masks are required at the service.
