Nadia Griffin Sansom TALLAHASSEE, FL - It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nadia Alexis Griffin Sansom, 47, of Tallahassee, FL, on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Public Viewing and Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2025, in the sanctuary of Family Worship & Praise Center, 1609 Branch Street, Tallahassee. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 9, 2025, in the sanctuary of the Old West Florida Enrichment Center, 2344 Lake Bradford Road, Tallahassee. Legalman Chief Petty Officer Griffin Sansom's burial, U.S. Navy Honors, and final rites will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 10, 2025, on the lawn of the Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee. Nadia was a proud Gulf War veteran who served her country with honor in the United States Navy for 20 years, earning her retirement in 2020. Throughout her military career, she served in Mayport, FL; San Diego, CA; Japan; and aboard the USS Ronald Reagan, where she made an indelible mark. Nadia was a woman of many passions. She was a lover of cooking, always eager to try new recipes, and a devoted gardener who found peace in tending to her plants. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel and explore the world, while her love for reading and solving puzzles enriched her mind. She was also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and a beloved owner of Tootie Charcuterie. Above all, Nadia cherished her family. She leaves behind her parents, Bernard M. Griffin and Shirley Griffin; her children, Kyrie Johnson, Layla Johnson, and Cedrick Johnson; her brothers, Bishop-Elect Quincy Devon (Michelle) Griffin and Maurice (Faith) Griffin; her paternal grandmother, Reverend Martha B. Griffin; and her fur baby: Biggie Smalls. Nadia's legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her many relatives and friends. Her family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time of sorrow. Nadia's memory will forever be cherished, and her impact will be felt for years to come.
