Mike was a great friend of mine since College of Charleston. He had a good sense of humor, and we shared many laughs. May God bless his family in this difficult time. I am so glad we got to spend time with Mike, Gretchen and the girls last summer at their house. Mike will be missed very much.

I am his big cousin from outside Philadelphia PA. I always enjoyed telling him that because I was 2 weeks older, but a foot shorter. One very fond memory of Mike was his habit of leaving Pittsburgh stuff with me. Years ago (maybe we were 17) when I would pick him up at the airport to visit our grandmother he left some old ticket stubs to a penguins game in my car between the seats. I did not find them for weeks, but when I did I thought of him. Had to gripe a little of course, but thought of him all the same. I told him and of course he smiled, and we had a big laugh. So ever since no matter the time and the place I would always end up with something steelers/penguins (mostly penguins) in my bag, car, or jacket any time I saw him. He knew I would find it days or weeks later, and be complaining about the other side of the state. However he knew it would remind me of him. He will be missed. Love Ya Mike.

I was fortunate enough to work for Michael over 6 years in a professional capacity and got to know him rather well. Michael was a real pleasure to be around, always quick to laughter and gentle in spirit. His passions absorbed him as he would glow with excitement about a roster change the Penguins have made or describe the next Steeler road trip that surely made him a leader in Steeler Nation. At times, I thought he had a direct line to both Steeler and Penguin General Managers, as the details he understood relative to these teams, was amazing! I saw him become a Father and what great joy his little girls brought him...how he matured as a new Dad and took his role as a Father with great seriousness. Michael had a huge heart that matched his towering size which made him such a unique man. Michael will be missed by many who loved him and the gaping hole of his absence will be impossible to fill.
Pass on my sorrows and prayers to the Naylor family.

Mike, guess we'll not be running into each other at any Widespread Panic shows. However, those we did attend were pretty good.
All of our sympathy to Ed, Judy, Grant, and the rest of your family.
