On behalf of my family, the Tomlinson's (Celeste, Patrick, Ayana, Simone, & Marcus) it is with deep sympathy and reverance that we extend our condolences during this time of bereavement for the passing of a great and giant relative Merton Simpson. Back in the eighties uncle Merton introduced my sister (Sonya Tomlinson, a budding surreal painter) to "Romare Bearden" who, helped her with an exihibit displaying her artworks at the "Harlem State Office Building" in Harlem, New York. May uncle Merton rush into the Lord's arms and may the family hold on to God'sunchanging hands!

My deepest sympathy to the Simpson Family. I had the pleasure of meeting him once. I was a friend of his brother Carl's, when he lived in New York. Carl and I are former co-workers.

Merton D. Simpson was a renaissance man; an established and prolific artist, consummate art dealer, and spirited musician. He will be remembered with love for his generosity, wit and compassion. He truly LIVED LIFE. He was my dear friend.

Merton Simpson made an original and productive life for himself, and contributed a lot to the art world. I have not seen him since years ago when he visited my parents William Halsey and Corrie McCallum, and worked with my father, but his career has been of interest. My condolences to the family.
