Mathew Williams SUMMERVILLE - Mathew James Williams, 55, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2025. Mathew was born on July 11, 1970, in Charleston, South Carolina. Mathew was a graduate of Summerville High School and lifelong resident of Summerville. He was a devoted father to his daughters and a friend to everyone who knew him. He was always there with a helping hand and a smile. He was a jack of all trades, having spent 20 years in food and beverage and hotel maintenance. He was an employee of Unifor Fire and Safety. He enjoyed activities with daughters, cooking, fishing, and drag racing. Mathew was a member of Summerville Baptist Church, participating in various Life Groups and activities. Mathew had developed a deep faith and love for Christ and was always willing share with others about his salvation. He is survived by his father, Juan Williams; stepmother, Vicky; mother, Lynn Laing; stepfather, Brent; his daughters, April Williams (Orlando, FL), Joanna Williams, and Helen Williams; his brother, Andrew Williams (Knoxville, TN); sister-in-law, Terry; and niece, Jessica. A memorial service will be held at Summerville Baptist Church on Saturday November 15, with visitation at 12:30 PM followed by a service at 1:30 PM.
