Mary Ann Melling SUMMERVILLE - Mary Ann Melling, age 89, Summerville, SC, a retired school cook and wife of Merle E. Melling, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Born in Gull Lake, WI, on July 19, 1933, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Lawrence V. Emerson and Myrtle Olsen Emerson. In addition to her loving husband, Merle, Mary Ann is survived by daughters, Julie Cumbee and husband, Jimmy, and Kelley Smith and husband, Trevor; sons, Kevin Melling and wife, Martha, and Gregory Melling and wife, Espie; sister, Betty Lou Kirkpatrick and; daughter-in-law, Pam Melling, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mary Ann was preceded in death by, sons, Mark Melling and Brian Melling; sisters, Beverly Potocnik and Shirley Petrack and brothers, John Emerson and Lawrence Emerson, Jr. Family and Friends are invited to the visitation from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. 843-797-2222.
