Mary Elizabeth VanVoorhis Hall MT. PLEASANT - Mary Elizabeth VanVoorhis Hall, 90, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, died July 11, 2010, of congestive heart failure at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family. Born April 5, 1920, in Hindsboro, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Reese VanVoorhis and Helen Bagley VanVoorhis. She was a longtime resident of Mattoon and Libertyville, Illinois. She was a homemaker until she and her husband owned and operated the Snelling and Snelling Employment Agency in Waukegan, IL. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years John Isom Hall; and her brothers, Robert T. VanVoorhis and Ned F. VanVoorhis. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Helen Espeseth and her husband, Randy, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Ann Pascoe of Salt Lake City, UT; and her grandchildren, Carrie Elizabeth Espeseth, John Hall Espeseth, Elizabeth Ann Pascoe and Michael James Pascoe and his wife, Erin. A memorial service is planned for a later date in VanVoorhis Cemetery, Hindsboro, IL. Mary's family requests that memorial donations be made in her honor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814.
