Not only do I have a literally a life long friend in your youngest child Terri Lynn, aka Rooster. You were a friend to the end with me as an adult. Billy, Dee Dee, Skipper,Mark, and Terry.
Please accept my condolences for the loss or your mother. She was a great mom! I remember she used to teach us a new vocabulary word, its meaning, and how it was to be used in a sentence.( and I'm willing to bet that ya'll have probably
forgotten about this) One of the words I remember most was esteem. Out of all the moms in the old neighborhood I have always held your mom in the highest esteem. Besides she made the best panckes and syrup I have ever had.

Terri, you all are like family to me and I am blessed to have shared a life time of memories with ya'll. Mary Ruth will be missed but never forgotten. She was like a mom or a sincere friend to anyone who ever had the privilege of her encouragement, inspiration or her positive attitude. And as she would always say "LOVE YA TO PIECES". I think proverb 31:25-31 discribes her well.

Fritz Hollings brought me to Charleston to practice law with him in '67. Thereafter Mary and I worked together in both his constituent office and our law practice. Yes, truly she had a "positive attitude and zeal for life." We loved her sparkling zest for life, sharp wit, and genuine concern. I'm so sorry I lost contact with her in recent years.
