My sympathies on the passing of your father a year ago.
Our father Clyde was a good friend of Marshall and mom Marie was your mom's cousin. We talked to Lois & Marshall a couple months before his passing, but I had not seen him since I was down with my folks in 2005. We got together with James & Alfie at the house and got some down home take out. I followed your dad's directions and when we picked up the order he made sure it was right.
I hope all is going well with you.

Sadly, we lost an old friend and extraordinary man, Mr Marshall Tucker passed on Friday at the age of 99.
A kind gentleman and loyal family man who is survived by his wife of 50 years Lois Boltin Tucker and his daughters Deborah Duval (Rick) and Anita Satterfield and their families.
A talented musician and piano tuner, he served as deacon in his church and he fought for the disabled of SC, chartering the National Federation of the Blind of SC. His efforts and perseverance helped so many in our state.
Marshal was a dear friend of my father and a fishing buddy. Our families were close and went to Southside Baptist together back in the 50s and 60s, where Marshall also performed most Sundays. He and Deborah´s visit last year was treasured by my mother and me as we reminisced about the old days in Spartanburg.
He also gained national notoriety when a group of fellows from Spartanburg unknowingly named their band after him. He told me he was proud of them as long as they were good boys and played good music which they certainly have done.
Memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Columbia where his family will receive friends Wednesday morning at 10:30 followed by the funeral at noon.
All of the Angel Family send our love and condolences and treasure our memories.

When you were born you cried and the world smiled. Live your life in such a way that when you die you smile, and the world cries! Mr Tucker did that, and was a blessing to all who he came in contact with in his 99 years on this earth! He made a great impact in spite of his blindness! What a challenge to those of us with the blessing of vision! Our condolences to all his family and friends!

Marshall and Lois Tucker are special friends of The Vision Institute of SC. They were so very helpful and supportive to the TVI board when we first organized. Marshall´s sweet humor and no-nonsense advice about the needs of consumers in SC gave us a head start in planning our services and outreach. Our organization will never forget the kindness of Marshall and Lois Tucker.
With sympathy, The Board of TVI

Can't believe that Marshall is gone. I had just recently talked to him and Lois. I always had to remind him of who I was...I always had to tell him that I'm Benny and Donnita's daughter; Lee. Oh then he would just burst out, "Lee!!!" Ha! Ha! Marshall was so sweet, and hearing his story about how the Marshall Tucker Band was named after him was truly an awesome story. I would tell my mom and dad to make sure to tell Marshall that I said hello and to make sure he had a Snicker bar! Wish I did have a picture of him that I could share; but I'll always remember what he looked like - and now he can see - so now he knows what "I" look like. Rest in Peace my dear friend. You will never be forgotten.

I was fortunate enough to get to know Marshall & Lois Tucker through the Federation Center of the Blind where I worked for many years. The highlight of my day was when Marshall came to tune the Center's piano and play boogy woogy for me. He was a most talented pianist and wonderful person giving selfishly to the blind of SC, and nationwide through the SC Federation of the Blind. My thoughts and prayers are for Lois and all who love Marshall.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Tucker. My father spoke very highly of Mr. Tucker when he was employed with Havens Framing shop. He was a truly amazing man and a great person. He even called my Mother in the day of Mr Father´s funeral while we were getting ready and expressed his condolences and prayers for our family.
May he Rest In Peace and fly on the wings of angels.
