Marguerite Palmer Obituary

Marguerite Palmer CHARLESTON - Marguerite "Marge" Davis Palmer, 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Thomas A. Palmer (PhD) (USMC, ret.), entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 15, 2025. Her Funeral Service will be held on December 10, 2025, in St. Michael's Church, 71 Broad Street, at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will immediately follow in St. Michael's Churchyard. A reception will follow in the St. Michael's Parish Hall. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. Marge was born January 12, 1931 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Joseph Harry Davis and Marguerite Sherwood Davis. She is a graduate of Mary Washington College. She is survived by her sons, Thomas A. Palmer, Jr. (Jackie), William Scott Palmer (Kim) of Charleston, SC, and Brian Conrad Palmer (Peggy) of Wellfleet, MA; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Brian Sherwood Davis (Kathi) of Virginia Beach, VA. Marge was a devoted Marine Corps wife, and after moving to Charleston in 1970, owned and operated a popular antique furniture shop at 152 King Street. She was a long-time member of St. Michael's Church, and an active member and supporter of many civic and cultural organizations around Charleston. Memorials may be made to The Confederate Home of Charleston, 62 Broad Street, Charleston, SC 29401, or the Charleston Library Society, 164 King Street, Charleston, SC, 29401.
