Margaret Mason Obituary

Margaret Mason DUNDEE, FL - Margaret Mason, age 88, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010, as a result of heart failure. She was born on May 31, 1921, in Beason, Illinois. Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin Mason, daughter, Bonnie Yeazle, daughter Kymberly Jessup and daughter-in-law Nancy Yeazle. She is survived by two sons, Steve Yeazle, Lincoln, Illinois, and Bill Yeazle, Winter Haven, FL; two daughters, Cindy (Dave) Royalty and Darla (Mike) Mason, Winter Haven, FL; one son-in-law Franklin Jessup, Charleston, S.C.; four grandchildren, Keith Yeazle, Shanae Ackman, Mason Ivins, and Jessica Jessup along with four great-grandchildren, Tasha Ackman, Jordan Ackman, Kimberly Tongate and Maglyn Ivins. In January of 1950 she married Charles "Ed" Mason, and they resided in Lincoln, IL, later relocating to Sterling, Illinois. After retiring to South Carolina, they owned a gift business in the Charleston Market. At 83, Mason moved to Florida and opened Miss Margaret's Gifts in Dundee. Mrs. Mason was known for her landscaping and decorating talents. She was an avid bowler, who spent much of her free time at Cypress Lanes. Mrs. Mason attended Christ Community Church, was a member of Republican Women of Polk County, and the Dundee Chamber of Commerce. Her funeral will be 4:00 p.m., Monday, May 10, 2010, at Christ Community Church in Winter Haven, FL. A graveside service at Irish Grove Cemetery in Middleton, Illinois, will follow at a later date.
