Lynda Louise Nolta CHARLESTON - It is with great sadness that the family of Lynda Louise Nolta, 83, of
Charleston, SC, announce her passing on September 17, 2024. Relatives and friends of Lynda Nolta are invited to a small Celebration of Life service that will be held at 11:00, Saturday, November 2nd, at the Bishop Gadsden Chapel. Burial will be private. Lynda was born on October 29, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marion Corkery; her husband of 52 years, William (Bill) Nolta; and her brother, Lincoln. Lynda is survived by her sister, Barbara. Lynda met Bill "the love of her life" in Birmingham, Michigan. They moved to Denver where they stayed for several years and had three daughters, Cindy, Carrie and Catherine (often referred to as the 3 C's"). Bill worked for the JC Penney company and moved to Huntington, New York, where they raised their daughters. During those years in New York, Lynda started her own business - Touring Your Way. She would take customers from Long Island on chartered trips to NYC to enjoy Broadway plays, museums and lunch out. Her business was very successful, and she enjoyed doing this for many years. Lynda and Bill also lived in Dallas, TX, and Chapel Hill, NC, where they always enjoyed entertaining their large circle of friends. Their favorite home was in Seneca, SC, on Lake Keowee. There they were both in heaven enjoying lake living and creating many happy memories on "Tubby", their pontoon boat, and tailgating at Clemson football games. Upon the passing of Bill, Lynda relocated to Bishop Gadsden, in Charleston, to be closer to two of her daughters. Lynda and Bill loved traveling the world together and creating wonderful memories. Family always came first for them and they instilled many happy traditions that will carry on for many generations. They treasured their 7 Grandchildren (Natalie, Amy, Jack, Steve, Cait, Joe and BJ) more than anything in the world. Lynda went on to add 4 Great-Grandchildren (Elizabeth, Adrienne, Owen and Shane). With the family growing and moving to many different parts of the country, Lynda worked at making sure everyone stayed connected. Her last few years were challenging for her but she never complained. She appreciated the care she received by the many compassionate caregivers at Bishop Gadsden. Lynda had a wonderful sense of humor that brought much laughter to those who knew her. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by many. Lynda loved to say quite often that "It's a Wonderful Life" - and she truly did have a wonderful life.
