Lynda Lea Terjesen Biel SULLIVAN'S ISLAND - Lynda Lea Terjesen Biel, 76, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, at her home on Sullivan's Island, South Carolina. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Stella Maris Catholic Church, 1204 Middle St., Sullivan's Island, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at their home following the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel. Born on January 20, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Orville Terjesen and Ethel May Swanson Terjesen, Lynda lived a colorful life. She was a true friend, a beloved family member, and lots of fun to be around. She was married to the late Navy Captain Jeffrey Biel for 37 years. Dating back to her years as a Pan Am stewardess and, later, as a Navy wife, Lynda loved to adventure and to travel the world. Her early travels took her to Vietnam, Hawaii, Europe, China, India, and all across the United States. When she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease 16 years ago, instead of dwelling on her disease, Lynda decided she was going to continue to travel and rounded up her friends to accompany her to far-flung sites such as Alaska, Macchu Picchu, and the Cinque Terra in Italy. Lynda was a deeply kind and open-minded person. She had a host of close friends and neighbors who became like family throughout her life. She was the type of person who made a neighborhood better by her acts of love and service. She was a longtime member of the Sullivan's Island Turtle Team. She loved to host festive dinner parties and visitors in her home. Her family looked to her often as a reliable and wise source of comfort, uplift, and counsel. She also dearly loved dogs, having owned five of them during her life and fostered several more. She enjoyed walks on the beach with her friends, family, and dogs tremendously. Lynda's career included notable positions as a bank teller, a flight attendant for Pan Am, an antique dealer, and a residential real estate broker. She was also a person of deep faith, a lover of Christmas, an aspiring writer, and a member of Stella Maris Catholic Church. Known for her outstanding qualities as a great mom, Lynda's love for her family shone through in every aspect of her life. She is survived by her son, Stephen "Steve" Biel of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, her nephew, Christopher Terjesen of Scottsdale, Arizona, and her brothers, Bob Terjesen of Fountain Hills, Arizona and Gary Terjesen of Charleston, South Carolina.
