Lucille Skaggs Obituary

Lucille Skaggs HANAHAN - Lucille Skaggs passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born November 28, 1932, in Westminster, SC, to Maebelle Watt Elrod and Louie Long Elrod. Lucille spent most of her working career at MUSC where she held a number of key management positions. Lucille was an active member of the Otranto Civic Club where she held a number of key positions. She was well known for her cooking skills including her famous coconut cake and Christmas pralines. She loved to travel. Lucille is survived by her children, Lamar Brabham (Beth), Janet Brabham (Lori), and Sharon Schwarz (Andrew). She was the loving grandmother to Scott Brabham, Drew Schwarz, Matthew Schwarz, and Max Brabham. Also, a brother, Louie G. Elrod (Billy) and sister-in-law, Shirley Becker Elrod. Lucille was predeceased by her husbands, Quintus M. Brabham, Jr. and Ronald G. Skaggs and brother, Robert Miner Elrod (Bobby). A memorial service will be held 11am, Friday, August 15, 2025, at Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church, 5931 Murray Dr., Hanahan, 29410. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Yeamans Park Presbyterian Church.
