Louis E. Masche CHARLESTON - Louis E. Masche, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on October 16, 2024 at the age of 96 in his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. Born on November 8, 1927, Louis lived a life filled with love, dedication, and family values. Louis had an accomplished career in rentals and sales, where he applied his skills and work ethic to help many in his community. A proud graduate of Charleston High School, Class of 1945, he cherished the education he received and the friendships formed during those formative years. Among his proudest accomplishments was his service in the Washington Light Infantry, which he approached with the pride and honor characteristic of his nature. He is fondly remembered for the way he loved his family, always prioritizing their happiness and well-being. Louis is survived by his two daughters, Linda M. Hammill (Andy) of Edisto Island, SC, and LouEllen Ackermann (Jack) of Plainfield, IL. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Brianna Emes, Brooke Emes, and Erich Ackermann, who will carry his legacy in their hearts. Louis was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gretta Masche, whose memory he held dear throughout his life. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Louis's life during a visitation on October 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at J Henry Stuhr Mount Pleasant, located at 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC. This will be followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place following the service at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
