Lillian (Itty) Hunter O'Brien Dodson Charleston - Lillian (Itty) Hunter O'Brien Dodson passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at her home in Charleston, surrounded by her family. The relatives and friends of Jim and Lillian H. Dodson are invited to attend her funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday, July 15, 2023 from the chapel of the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway, Charleston. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens in Charleston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Itty was born on July 24, 1936 in Tarboro, NC. She graduated from St. Andrews High School, class of 1954, where she majored in fun friends, singing and dancing in "The Show", cheerleading and obtaining many superlatives. Itty was preceded in death by her husband, William J. O'Brien, Jr. and her son, David Hunter O'Brien. She is survived by her husband, James L. Dodson, Jr.; son, William J. O'Brien III; daughter, Elizabeth O. Ruoss; grandchildren, Chris (Megan) Ruoss, William J. (CayLa) O'Brien IV, Jonathon (Jamie) Ruoss, Ashleigh O'Brien and Matthew Ruoss; six great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor (Jim) Stewart and brothers, Charles Hunter and Richard (Ann) Hunter.
