LeRoy Moore Obituary

Florence LeRoy P. Moore KINGSTREE, SC - Mrs. Florence LeRoy Prevatte Moore, 94, wife of Walter Everett Moore, Jr., died August 14, 2013, in Tuomey Hospital in Sumter. Mrs. Moore was born April 8, 1919, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late John Furman Prevatte and Marie Louise Scott Prevatte. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School, a retired retail clerk, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. "Miss Roy" was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend and will be missed by many. She was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband, W.E. Moore, of Kingstree are: a daughter, Marilyn M. (Clinton) Crick, of Kingstree; a son, Walter Everett Moore, III, of Kingstree; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Addie P. Blanton, of Hanahan and Bernice P. McElveen, of Lynchburg; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a sister Essie P. Frierson, and 3 brothers, John Furman Prevatte, Jr., Montague J. Prevatte, and Edwin E. Prevatte. Funeral services will be 2 PM Friday, August 16, 2013, in Williamsburg Funeral Home's chapel with burial in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, c/o Alice A.
