LeRoy Beckmann, Jr. CHARLESTON - Entered into eternal rest on morning of October 30, 2010, LeRoy Beckmann, Jr., husband of Adele Kruger Beckmann. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Beckmann, Jr., are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Tuesday, November 2, 2010, in Bethel United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Interment, Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Monday, between 5 and 7 p.m. LeRoy was born on January 14, 1927, in Charleston, SC, the son of LeRoy Beckmann, Sr. and Melicent Muckenfuss Beckmann. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, retired as a Manager with the U.S. Postal Service and served as an employee with J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., for 18 years. He was an active lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church, a volunteer with Mended Hearts, and a member of the Elks Lodge #242 of Charleston, SC. Roy is survived by his wife of 60 years; three daughters, Nancy Beckmann Rollison and her husband Ed of West Columbia, SC, Carol Beckmann Johnson and her husband Darryl of Charleston, SC, and Linda Beckmann West and her husband Ron of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and five grandchildren, Stuart Beckmann (Meredith) Parks, Jeffrey Hatchell (Corey) Rollison, Nicholas Andrew Johnson, Matthew Edwin Rollison and Ryan James West. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Restoration Fund, 57 Pitt Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
