Lee Droze Obituary

Lee Droze SUMMERVILLE - Lee Andrew Droze, 83, of Summerville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Summerville Cemetery, 1330 Boone Hill Road, Summerville, SC 29483. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday evening, May 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC. Born on June 5, 1941, Lee was the son of the late Grover Whaley Droze and Ethel Elizabeth Grooms. Over the course of his life, Lee pursued many careers ~ he served his community as a firefighter and EMS driver for many years under John "Jack" B. Parks, later working as a meat cutter in several local grocery stores. He also became well known as the owner of Droze BBQ and Droze Auction Company, where he worked as an auctioneer for many years. Lee had a deep appreciation for gospel music, seafood, and farm life ~ but above all, he treasured his family. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Droze Floyd (Laurens) of Pawleys Island, SC; grandchildren, Charli Floyd, Anne Marie Evans (Joshua), Lauren Hermanson (Benjamin), Andi Leigh Droze (Mitch), Rachael Droze, Kelli Droze, and Jackson Droze; and great-grandchildren, McCallum McDonald, Montgomery McDonald, Ava Hayes Evans, Cade Evans, and Benjamin Hermanson. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jacquline Louise Droze; his sons, Lee Andrew Droze, Jr. and Kenneth Patrick Droze; and his parents, Grover Whaley Droze and Ethel Elizabeth Grooms. Lee will be remembered for his warm heart, strong work ethic, and the love he poured into those around him.
