Our whole family thought of Larry as our family, and I cannot tell you how sad we were to learn of his passing. I talked with him in October to tell him about the arrival of our first grandchild, and, as always, he sounded remarkably alert with a great memory about all the projects he had worked on in Awendaw.
It was wonderful to have him as a neighbor, friend, and expert in all aspects of home repairs! Our son, Eric, called him "Mr. Fixit"and both the children worked with him in putting in the garden fence and Amy remembers helping him with the seawall! Larry probably saved me from divorce, since he took care of all the items on Dave's "To Do" list!
We visited him in Maryland about 2 years ago at Lighthouse, and he still had the photo album that I gave him when he moved from Mt. Pleasant. He was indeed a part of our extended family.
Our family sends our sympathy in your loss, but I know he had a happy life overall, and we were very happy to have known him.

William L and Marilyn J. (Ranek) Kennedy,
Lawrence (Lolly) Introduced Marilyn and me through USPS and set up a blind date July 17th 1948, aboard the SS Admiral on our leave after finishing San Diego Boot Camp.
I will be eternally grateful for his deed as Marilyn and me will celebrate or 70th wedding anniversary 22. April 2020

Larry was my golf partner for almost 15 years in Charleston. He was the easiest going guy and friend you could ever ask for. We will miss him. Barbara and Harry Bishop
