We are so sorry to hear of Larry's passing - we lived next door to him, Kathy and Luke in Aurora CO with our son Joseph in the early 80s. Larry taught us how to throw hatchets, make and live in tepees, use black powder, tan muskrat hides, and basically instilled the mountain man spark in all of us. We had been looking for him through google just today to tell him we were canning our first tomatoes in 30 years today. So very sad to find out we missed getting reacquainted. Bless all of you.

Larry was a unique individual with an unrestrained love for life. Once he set his mind to do something, he never let the world get in the way of what it was he wanted to do. His shiny eyes always had that sparkle of mischieviousness behind them, like you were never really sure what Larry was really up to. Larry was a great influence on me early in my life, and I followed him through the worlds of black powder rendezvous, the fire protection service, 4WD Scouts, and deer hunting. I am very sorry that I did not have a chance to see him one more time before he passed on. He remains one of the few individuals that I have looked up to and admired all of my life, and I will surely miss him now that he is gone. May Larry rest in God's Eternal Peace, and to all his family and loved ones, I send all my condolences at his loss.

Our last plan was to watch the gators in the reservoir...I will miss his sweet spirit and good company.
My sympathies to those who loved him in your loss.

I had only meet Larry a dozen or so times, but he talked to me like we had known each other for years. He always had a great story that would keep you laughing. He was a great man. I am sorry for your loss and will keep all of you in our prayers
