Larry Powell Obituary

Larry T. Powell Sr. Hanahan - Larry Thomas Powell Sr. passed away, Friday April 20, 2018. Larry was born August 30, 1953, in Charleston, SC, to Rosco and the late Jewell Powell. Larry was a Mason with Hammerton Lodge 332, a North Charleston Reserve Officer for seven years, and a Commissioner of the Exchange Field in North Charleston for several years. He spent most of his career as a Maintenance Supervisor for Coburg Dairy. He enjoyed hunting, lake life, Alabama Football, and riding his Harley Davidson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Teresa White Powell; three sons, Rosco Daniel Powell of Hanahan, Larry Thomas Powell, Jr. of Augusta, GA, and James Franklin Wayne Powell (Jennifer) of Ladson, five grandsons, Triston, Caleb, Jayden, Camden, and Baby Jackson, and a great-granddaughter, Adaline. Very close to his heart were daughter, Betty Hoffer of Hanahan; granddaughter, Katlyn; grandson, Dustin; and great-granddaughter, Kynlee. A brother, Roger Dale Powell (Debbie) of Charleston; a sister, Rhonda Powell Thomas (Jerry) of Ridgeville; two nephews, Bryan and Scott. Family will receive friends Monday, April 23, 2018, from 6-8PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 10AM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406, 843-797-2222.
