Kristine "Krisi" Johnson
Charleston - Kristine "Krisi" Drews Johnson, 57, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Richie Johnson, entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 14, 2025. Interment will be private at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. A celebration of life ceremony will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, January 22nd, at St. Matthews. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Krisi was born March 22, 1968, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Paul Kenneth Drews and Joan Kent Drews. Krisi was a proud graduate of Middleton High School and The University of South Carolina where she received her B.S. degree in Risk Management and Insurance. While at USC, she was an active member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, where she made friendships that have endured throughout the years.
She began her career with the Travelers Insurance Company in their Hartford, Richmond and Atlanta Offices. She later joined the Mappus Insurance Agency in Charleston where she built a long and successful career as a customer service representative. She was loved by her co-workers who enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor. Throughout her 31-year career, her clients always appreciated the professional and compassionate service she provided.
Krisi had a deep love for her family and brought her witty sense of humor to every situation. She could always be counted on to bring life and light to all around her. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like reading a good book with her kittens next to her, family get-togethers and running the kids to activities during those busy years. Her children were always her first priority, and their well-being and care was always at the top of her list.
She always enjoyed the anticipation of a trip to a tropical destination, like the recent cruise she took to the Caribbean in November. She had a deep love for good music like George Strait, Vince Gill and Tammy Wynette, as well as classic rock, 80s hits and soul music of the 1970's. A road trip always included jamming to one of her favorite playlists.
She enjoyed going to church and was an active member of St. Matthews, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. She faithfully contributed her talents to the Altar Guild for years and had a deep love for her church family.
Along with her husband, Richie, of 32 years, Krisi is survived by her son, Thomas K. Johnson; daughter, Lillian K. Johnson; her mother, Joan K. Drews; three sisters: June K (Richard) Nadol, Kellyanne Burbage and Courtnay Drews (Scott) Bazemore.
Memorials may be made in her honor to St. Matthews Lutheran Church or Pet Helpers Adoption Center on James Island.
