Kim Gonzalez Obituary

GONZALEZ, Kim Entered into eternal rest on the morning of October 29, 2008, Roberto Kim Gonzalez, husband of Tina Staples Gonzalez. Residence, Charleston, South Carolina. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Kim Gonzalez are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monday morning, November 3, 2008 at ten o'clock. The Prayers of Final Commendations and Farewell will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL this Sunday afternoon from five until seven o'clock where a Christian Wake service will be held at six o'clock. Kim was born on January 17, 1955 in Laredo, Texas, son of the late Edgardo Gonzalez and Gloria Vega Gonzalez. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was self employed in the stone industry for over 35 years. Founder and proprietor of Charleston Marble and Granite, LLC and the founder of Charleston Marble and Granite Food Bank . He attended Southern Methodist University, member of Charleston Trident Chamber of Commerce, Harbour Club, Better Business Bureau, a member of the Republican National Committee, Marble Institute of America and Trident Home Builders Association. Surviving in addition to his mother of San Antonio, TX; his wife, Tina of Charleston; four sons, Roberto Tote Aponte Gonzalez of Atlanta, GA, Robert Chad Gonzalez of Richardson, TX, Alfredo Aponte Gonzalez of Atlanta, GA, Earl Trey Davis of Radford, VA; two daughters, Kristina Niki Gonzalez of Dallas, TX and Elizabeth Cherie Houlihan of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two brothers, Edgardo Gordy Gonzalez of San Antonio, TX and Justo Penn Gonzalez of Houston, TX; a sister, Ariadne Moch Littlefield of San Antonio, TX; and a grandson, Liam Houlihan. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 3870 Leeds Ave., Ste. 101, N. Charleston, SC 29405 and/or Star Gospel Mission, 474 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29403. I would extend my sincere condolences to the Gonzalez family for the loss of a great man. He was a good friend to me and I will miss him. I got to know him five years ago and I am glad that I had the opportunity to do so. He gave quite a bit to charities and he was very generous to his family and friends as well.

I lived In Laredo Texas and grew up with the Gonzalez family. I will always remember Kim for his great sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.
