Kevin played an incredibly important role in my life and will be deeply missed. I called him my "college dad," as he and Amy supported me in countless ways when I moved to Charleston in 2019 to attend the College of Charleston. Even after I graduated, that title still applied, and it always will.

I truly could not have done it without him. Kevin would pick me up from my dorm at any hour of the night and helped me through many move-outs over the years. The time we spent together created memories I will cherish forever. We shared the best conversations, and our drives together always included a stop at Chick-fil-A for cookies-and-cream milkshakes.

Kevin was the best listener I´ve ever known and always offered thoughtful, genuine advice. He was an excellent cook, wonderful company, and someone who made everyone feel at ease. He was easygoing, patient, hilarious, compassionate, and a loving husband to Amy and owner to Blaze. Amy and Kevin cared for each other so deeply and were a perfect pair.

Kevin had a rare ability to make people feel truly understood and deeply cared for. His smile could light up any room, and I always looked forward to our time together. I feel incredibly blessed to have shared so many laughs, inside jokes, and moments where we seemed to be thinking the same thing-often confirmed by a knowing smirk on his face.

Kevin was a truly special person, and everyone who knew him felt that. I am forever grateful to have known him in the way I did and for the time we spent. together. He will always remain in our hearts until we meet again.

Amy, Morris, Dawn and entire Sutton Family- As you know Kevin was a second brother to me. When I moved to Greensboro NC in 1981 Kevin showed up in my backyard with a basketball and his dog at that time Twinkle. From there a friendship developed over 44 years — playing basketball, golfing, going school together at NW Guilford, working at the Cardinal together, college roommates, in each others wedding, following the Cowboys, joking about Bird and Magic and who was better, (thank goodness Amy got him over to the Boston side) his love for Duke basketball beyond all that Kevin was a genuine true friend in good or bad times always there. Kevin always had a positive outlook even while fighting cancer he was more concerned about you than himself. He loved his family and friends and followed a Christian life. I know he is at peace and with Christ in heaven beside his mom and loved ones and will be waiting for us we will pick up in the golf course in heaven or I’m sure you’ll be waiting for me with a basketball. Duke is Duke. I miss and love ya brother! Your buddy - Brian Donahue
