Kendall Johnson Obituary

Kendall Lyle Johnson "He was a constant inspiration the light of my life the love of my life uncommonly wise his counsel always pointed True North had a special genius way about him anchored me to the present moment wouldn't let me get away with speculating about what might be intrepid helped me push my boundaries and above all, true to himself." These are just a few of the remembrances shared by friends and family who acknowledged the passing November 9, 2011 of Kendall Lyle Johnson at age 83 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Kendall was born in Manistee, Michigan. He received a degree in Economics from Michigan State University and a J.D. from the University of Miami. He served in the US Army Medical Corp during the Korean War and was stationed for a time in Japan where the people and culture left a lasting impression on him. Kendall worked in the insurance industry for many years in Southern California. In 1971 Kendall made a "spark" that would change his life and the lives of those around him. While taking a UCLA Extension course he was introduced to the idea of radiation field (Kirlian) photography and using his well-known ingenuity, he was able to assemble the first apparatus in the US to make Kirlian images, with a spark. This led to research at UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Institute during which time he wrote "The Living Aura" later called "Photographing the Non-Material World." From this time on he devoted himself to the pursuit of art and writing and to striving to come to terms with his life's passion, "what drives life." We will miss his spirit and his profound sense of the magic and mystery of life. Kendall is survived by his wife of 33 years, two daughters, two granddaughters, and a large extended family.
