I just now read of the passing of Kay Francis, and am saddened to hear of her passing. I am Lily O'Shaughnessy's granddaughter and live in California, but well remember our visits to Fort Wayne. It has been many years since I last saw Kay Francis at an O'Shaughnessy family reunion in Franke Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana around 1984. I had such a great, memorable visit with her, and she gave me two sand dollars which she had brought all the way from South Carolina. I still have them and think of her. My thoughts go to all her family.

Dear Terry, Butch, Cheryl and Michael,

I have many fond memories of your mother and father from Ashley Lanes, Annual Taxes and Visits to My Parents' House as family friends.

Your mother and father were a very unique couple that clearly loved one other deeply.

For many years I enjoyed the annual visit to Kay to get my taxes done. She would always be so patient with me, as I would be asking so many questions of the outcome, before she had time to complete my forms to give me the answers. She ALWAYS kept the same calm demeanor. She was a very special person that will never be forgotten.

While my condolences go out to all the family and friends, my hopes for you is that you can, as I am, find comfort in knowing she has joined your father, in a better place. I am sure they both are looking down, proudly, on all of you with the understanding they will be missed and wanting you to replace there void with many happy memories that you all had together.

God Bless

Dear Godawski Family,
My condolences and prayers go forward to you all during this time of loss. I only knew Kay a short time, but always thoroughly enjoyed being around here both here at the office, and the American Legion. Kay had a kind and good heart and always reached out to those around her. God bless you all.

Dear Terry, Butch, Cheryl and Mike,
I just read on Facebook about your Mom's passing and was stunned to hear the news. I received a Christmas card from her saying she had cancer but was fighting it. So sad. I have many fond memories of your Dad and Mom. I would love it when they visited the G's - your Dad joking and your Mom relaxing with her favorite beverage! Even though I hadn't seen them in years they were often thought of. At least now they are reunited. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Terry, Butch, Cheryl, and Michael,

Don and I are so deeply saddened to hear of Miss Kay's passing. She and your dad were such an integral part of my childhood and young adult life. They always welcomed the little Jewish girl who lived down the street to so many family events that I felt like you all were my second family. She will be greatly missed for her kindness, humor, and challenging opinions of the world around us. She is now with your Dad and finally at peace. Our heartfelt condolences are with you all at this very difficult time.

Kay has always been a part of our life, from Ashley Lanes, to Annual Taxes, to my mothers stories of Thursday night outings and holidays. She was a great lady that touched many lives. My thought and prayers are with your family. May your grief be short and pleasant memories strong until we are all reunited.
