Katherine Kinlaw Obituary

Katherine Chitty Kinlaw BEAUFORT, SC - Katherine Chitty Kinlaw, 54, of Beaufort, SC, passed away on October 8, 2025, at The Agape Care Lowcountry Community Hospice House in Summerville, SC. She was born on February 27, 1971, to Charles Benjamin Chitty and Kay Kittrell Chitty of Mount Pleasant, SC. From an early age, she was quick to smile and share in life's joys, making her presence a true blessing to all who knew her. Katherine attended The College of Charleston, where she enjoyed an active social life and earned her undergraduate degree in business administration. She then earned a Master's degree in business administration from The Citadel and a doctorate in pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina. Her unending passion to serve others made being a pharmacist, the career she chose, a perfect fit for Katherine's selfless, giving spirit. Katherine was a deeply family-oriented person, always placing her loved ones at the center of her life. Known for her friendly spirit and radiant smile, she had a gift for making everyone around her feel welcomed, uplifted, and happy. An indulgent mother above all else, with her warm and loving heart, she always put others first and never hesitated to offer support in any situation. Her pastimes included time with family, travel, long beach walks, and boating with her friends. Katherine is survived by her husband of 29 years, David Allen Kinlaw; daughter, Rachel Kinlaw Lee (Jackson); sons, Benjamin Allen Kinlaw; (Maria); and James Allen Kinlaw; parents, Charles Benjamin Chitty and Kay Kittrell Chitty; brother, Charles Berley Chitty; stepson, Keith Allen Kinlaw (Amanda), four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Codey Allen Kinlaw. Visitation with the family will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 at The Church at LifePark, 1151 George Browder Boulevard, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466. A memorial service will follow in the church sanctuary. Following the service, committal will take place at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens on Mathis Ferry Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the cancer research organization of your choice or to the School of Pharmacy at the Medical University of South Carolina.
