Karen Alexander Obituary

Karen Alexander Hendersonville, NC - -Karen Alexander (Myers), 65, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Karen was born in Edwards, CA. Her family moved with the Air Force and that beginning inspired her spirit of adventure. Eventually they settled in her mother's childhood home of Sandwich, MA. In 1975, she moved to Charleston, SC. In 2008, she moved to Hendersonville, NC, to be closer to her daughter, where she also earned her MBA. She returned to Sandwich, MA, to support her mother, and was able to return to her home in Hendersonville in 2018. One of 5 siblings of Merilyn Myers and Bryce Myers, Sr., she adored her large family and beloved friends. She loved working with people and feeding them well. She worked for years in HR, owned a cafe; in Summerville, SC, and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. She was a devoted Toastmaster and served as District Governor of SC. She loved spending time with her family, always showing up with delicious food and a big smile. She found solace in morning walks on a winter beach watching the sunrise, and had a great spirit of adventure. Skydiving, cruises, waterfalls, antiquing, late night card games...she was always one to say yes. She is survived by: children, Nicole Darsey, and Paul "PJ" Alexander, Jr. (their father, Paul Alexander, Sr. and their spouses and children, Danny and Christine; grandchildren, Meghan, Nadalyn, Payton; and great-granddaughter, Madelyn); siblings, Gloria Clark, Vivian Anders, Bryce Myers, Jr., and Marshall Myers; and her father, Bryce Myers, Sr. She is predeceased by her mother, Merilyn Myers. Friends and family are invited to her Memorial Service on Saturday, February 19, at 2pm at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC. A Memorial Gathering will follow at 4pm at the Hilton Garden Inn, 406 Sigma Drive, Summerville, SC, to celebrate the life of Karen. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Habitat for Humanity. Arrangements by PARKS FUNERAL HOME, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. www.parksfuneralhome.com Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston

We are so sorry to learn of Karen's passing. She was so fun to work with at Bishop Gadsden and when we got married I asked her to bake our cake. She did and it was incredibly beautiful and delicious. She was a lovely and fun lady. Our heartfelt sympathy ...Sue and Dilio Mariotti
