Julie Wigley Obituary

Julie Peake Hixon Wigley McCLELLENVILLE, SC - Julie Peake Hixon Wigley, 53, of McClellanville, South Carolina, wife of Charles L. Wigley, Jr., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Born on December 31, 1971 in Anderson, Indiana, Julie was the beloved daughter of Mack Hixon and Laney Holaday Brandhorst. Graduating from the Citadel with her Master's in counseling, Julie was a cherished member of the Moultrie Middle School for more than 20 years, where she dedicated her life to serving as a school counselor. In her role, she supported countless students and their families with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering care. She was not only a trusted advocate for her students but also a dedicated colleague and calming presence within the school community. With plans to retire at the end of the school year, she looked forward to spending time with her family and friends in the country, surrounded by her horses and pets, all of whom she loved more than anything. Julie is survived by her husband, Chuck Wigley, Jr.; her children, William Stover, Jr. and Evelyn (Abby) Stover; mother, Laney Holaday Brandhorst; stepmother, Sarah Hixon; siblings, Haley Henson (Wallace), Jimmy Brandhorst, and Sam Hixon; as well as her nephew, Mack Henson and niece, Nora Henson. She was preceded in death by her father, Mack Hixon. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd., Mount Pleasant, SC. A private inurnment will be held in Alabama at a later date. I just learned of Ms. Wigley´s passing. I am so very sorry for losing such a caring and compassionate woman. She was so kind and helpful to me when my son was at Moultrie. She was very attentive and caring. I´m truly sorry that she is no longer here to continue making the world a better place. I hope you know how much she was appreciated and all that she gave to her students and families. My prayers for your family.
