Joseph Earl "Joe" Wooten, Sr. ESTILL, SC - Mr. Joseph Earl "Joe" Wooten, Sr., 81, of Burnell Rd. near Estill died early Thursday morning November 24, 2011 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston Born May 24, 1930 in Hampton County he was the son of the late Joe Wooten and Leona Jarrell Wooten. Mr. Wooten served his country in the United Stated Army in Korea from 1952-54, retired from Westinghouse Corp. in 1988 having worked in the shipping department and was a lifelong farmer. He was a lifelong member of the Nixville Baptist Church where he was a deacon from 1964 to present day and served the church in many capacities throughout the years. Surviving besides his wife of 60 years Annie Liza Padgett Wooten of the home: are one son: Joseph, Jr. and wife Phyllis of Varnville, SC three daughters: Jane Youmans and husband Roy of Hampton, SC Ellen Brinson and husband Doug of Walterboro, SC and Georgia Ann DeLoach and husband Steven of Varnville, SC. There are three brothers: Jimmy, Edison, and Rudy Wooten all of Estill, SC, four sisters: Loretta Moore of Columbia, SC, Louise Stanley of W. Columbia, SC, Nan Maloney of James Island, SC and Gloria Brunson of Hampton, SC. There are nine grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 27th, 2011 at 3 P.M. in the Nixville Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Paul Creason and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home located at 300 Mulberry St., West Hampton, SC 29924 (803-943-3352), on Saturday evening from 5 to 7 P.M. and on Sunday until 2 P.M. when the casket will be placed in the church prior to the service. Memorials in his honor may be directed to the Nixville Baptist Church New Life Center or the Youth Ministry of Nixville Baptist Church, 3915 Two Sister's Ferry Rd., Estill, SC 29918. Earl was such a wonderful christian man. What a blessing to have him has head of your family. I am praying for all of the family, and Anna Liza, life will be different for you, with Gods help and your loving family, it takes one day at a time to go thru the days ahead. God Bless all of you. Heaven has a great addition to there numbers. Love to all of you.

May God be with the family at this time. Uncle Earl was a wonderful example for what a person should be. He loved God and his family. He believed in working hard for what you received. He truly made this world a better place. We all will miss him greatly.
