"But the 1964 team (Camden) steamrolled nearly everyone. The closest victory was a 7-0 win against Eau Claire in week nine. They finished with a 13-0 record that culminated in a 26-0 state championship victory against highly touted Easley on Thanksgiving Day. The most impressive statistic about the group of 28 players - they allowed six points all season en route to the school´s sixth state championship."The six points referred to the pic above scored by the team above in lower state play off game. John is a lineman in the 1964 pic.It was a pleasure to share team responsibilities with John for 4 years in high school.

Since the 9th grade of our high school years , I knew John 's immediate family .Sports was the motto.I am loaning him my letter(see photo). His was the same as mine.We saw a new three grade high school sports program blossom into a state contender.May he rest in peace .A bullet proof vest no longer needed.

John was a very special "big guy". He was fun to be around and provided many fun memories. When he was a Charleston County police officer, no criminal would ever challenge John because of his size. John was a great mentor and he will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.
