John Simms Obituary

John Simms GREENVILLE, SC - John Tobias Simms, passed away on May 2nd 2025, a resident of Greenville, SC the past fifty years, but originally from England leaving a legacy of love, hard work, and adventure. A proud father to Kimberly Jane (Simms) Gibbs and Nicholas Dana Simms, he was also a successful entrepreneur, founding several machine tool sales companies. John was known for his sharp wit, storytelling, and love of travel. He was the founder of Churchill's English Pub Club in Greenville, SC, and enjoyed horseback hunting trips to Colorado. He is survived by his children; siblings, Roger and Trevor Simms; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Jan Rhea, and brother, Frank Simms. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. Please visit www.thomasmcafee.com for the full obituary.
