John Reeves Obituary

John Boozer Reeves, Sr. COTTAGEVILLE, SC - Mr. John Boozer Reeves, Sr., age 87, of Cottageville Highway, Cottageville, entered into rest Saturday afternoon, September 5, 2015, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro. Born August 15, 1928, in Colleton County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late George Reeves and the late Lillie Bryant Reeves. He served our country faithfully in the United States Air Force as a Pharmacy Tech in Greenland. He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard in Charleston in 1985 as a welder and following his retirement, he was a welding instructor at General Dynamics. He was a "Pardner" of Danny Lee Construction in Cottageville. He was a member of Cottageville Baptist Church. Boozer was a true outdoorsman who dearly loved hunting as well as fishing. He was a talented woodworker and will always be remembered for the love and dedication he had to his family. Surviving are: his loving wife, to whom he would have been married to for fifty-two years on September 10th, Mrs. Jeanette Ackerman Reeves; and four children, John Boozer Reeves, Jr. and his wife Jill of Hampton, Berry Allen Reeves of Arizona, Lilly Reeves Barton and her husband Terry of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, and Danny Lee Reeves and his wife Kim of Cottageville. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews to include a special nephew and dear friend, Thomas Lewis Reeves, Jr. of Cottageville. He was preceded in death by two sons, George Robert Reeves and Charles Curtis Reeves; and siblings, Sherrod Johnston, Eleanor Antley, Lewis Reeves, Sr., Thelma Gibson, Gertrude Reeves, and George Bryant Reeves. Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, September 8, 2015, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend George "Buck" Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Fox Cemetery, Cottageville. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to: Cottageville Baptist Church, 11643 Cottageville Highway, Cottageville, South Carolina 29435. Family and friends are invited to call at his visitation from 5 o'clock until 7 o'clock this Monday at THE BRICE W.
