John Robert "Bob" Pye Mt. Pleasant - John Robert Pye "Bob", 95, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, husband of the late Margaret Young Pye, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, October 7, 2022. The relatives and friends of Bob Pye are invited to attend his funeral service at the graveside, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston at 10:00 am. TThe family will receive friends in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd., Monday, October 10, 2022, 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Bob was born December 11, 1926 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late George and Celia Whetsell Pye. He was a manager in the wholesale and retail meat industry for more than 35 years. He was a Golden Gloves Boxer and was a master Mason Friendship #9 AFM. His faith in Christ was evident in his devotion to his church, Cokesbury United Methodist Church. He was the co-founder with his wife of the Senior Adult Methodist Program, which he directed with her for 14 years. Bob lived a full life on his own terms. He was blessed with an excellent memory and the ability to live life independently until the time of his passing. His favorite saying, known by all that knew him, "I'm glad I got to see you. But more importantly, I'm glad you got to see me." He is survived by his two daughters, Debra Pye Taylor (Pete) and Lisa Pye Quick (Clyde) both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, John Rodney Pye (Janice) of North Charleston, SC and Joseph Robert Pye (Patsy) of Meggett, SC; four grandchildren, Janet Dangerfield, Rhonda Kennan, Patrick Pye and Jamie Taylor; and seven great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Grace, Ben, Lauren, Anna Margaret, Sarah Catherine, and James. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 4990 Dorchester Toad, North Charleston, SC 29418.
