Honestly my memories of going to Mr.K's Piggly Wiggly are such a happy part of my childhood. Shopping at his store was always fun and every time I go it just feels like home. I remember winning a thanksgiving turkey coloring contest when I was little at the Summerville location. I still have the stuffed animal turkey I won and we put it up every year for thanksgiving. His passing truly saddens me as he and Piggly Wiggly hold a big place in my heart as part of HOME and my community. My prayers go to his family and may he be in a wonderful place! His legacy will live on with all of us Piggly Wiggly customers and Customers in training.

We were both so saddened to learn of Mr. K's passing. Such a dear, sweet human being. During the time in which we owned/managed the Woodlands property then known as Gadsden Manor Inn, Mr. K. always stood ready to send over a last minute grocery item for one of the many wedding receptions we hosted. As the inn was closing, he called and offered freezer and/or refrigeration space for any food we might need to store. The 2 of us never forgot his kindness and support and have spoken frequently of him over the years. I know you, as his family, will have many sweet memories that we hope will provide some comfort at this difficult hour.
