John Jordan Obituary


JORDAN, Jr., John John Archie Jordan, Jr., 80, of Ladson, SC, husband of Roberta Salvo Jordan, died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, October 24, 2006 at St. George's Episcopal Church in Summerville, SC at 1 o'clock. Burial will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery in Summerville, SC. Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home this Monday evening from 6 until 9 o'clock. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC 29401. Mr. Jordan was born July 3, 1926 in Orangeburg, SC, a son of the late John A. Jordan, Sr. and Sadie Carroll Zeigler. He was a retired U.S. Navy Storekeeper 1st Class serving 22 years and also was a retired warehouse supervisor for the College of Charleston for 16 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Vietnam. He was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church, American Legion Post in Goose Creek, VFW Post 3433 in Ladson and the Fleet Reserves. Survivors include his wife, Roberta Jordan of Ladson; four sons, John A. Jordan of Corpus Christi, TX, James E. Jordan of Aiken, SC, Joseph A. Jordan of Summerville, SC, John A. Jordan, Jr. of St. Matthews, SC; one daughter, Barbara Kendoziorski of Incline Village, Nevada; four stepdaughters, Roberta Gene Yomtov, of San Jose, CA, Lindy Beaver of Chapin, SC, Christy Milligan of Swansea, SC, Melody Infinger of James Island, SC; two stepsons, Mark E. Milligan and Theodore E. Milligan, both of Charleston, SC; one sister, June Browning of Montgomery, AL; 10 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; twelve step-grandchildren; and one step great-grandson.
