John Johnson Obituary

John Henry "Johnny" Johnson, Jr., 68, of Summerville, SC, passed away on November 13, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on November 26, 1956, in Charleston, SC, he was the son of the late John Henry Johnson, Sr. and Lunette Johnson.
Johnny was married to the love of his life, Troy Johnson, for 45 wonderful years. Together they built a strong, close-knit family which he cherished. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Johnny's greatest joy came from the time he spent with those he loved most. He had a passion for fishing and music, which brought him peace and joy. Johnny was also an avid football fan. He supported the Pittsburgh Steelers and the South Carolina Gamecocks, even when it was tough. For 20 years, Johnny worked as an engineer with Bosch, where he was respected among his coworkers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Troy Johnson; his children: Jessica Freeman (Travis) and Ryan B. Johnson (Elizabeth); his grandson, Jackson Freeman; his loyal dog, Brody; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Dale Canoles and Julie Colvin; as well as his parents.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 5pm to 7pm at James A. Dyal Funeral Home.
