John C. DeSantis, Jr. Charleston - John Carl DeSantis, Jr., 79, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday, November 20, 2015 after a long illness. His committal service will be held Friday, November 27, 2015 in Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC 29902 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway. John was born December 18, 1935 in Wildwood, New Jersey, son of the late John Carl DeSantis, Sr. and the late Alice Hood DeSantis. He was a veteran who valiantly served his country in the United States Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard for ten years. He was a long standing friend of Bill's for 33 years and he sponsored many people on the path to recovery. John was a kind and gentle soul and was loved by all. He is survived by his longtime loving partner, Audrey Fleishman of Charleston, SC; daughter, Alesia McMillian (Chris) of Mount Pleasant, SC; son, John Frederic DeSantis of Jacksonville, NC; brother, Edward DeSantis of NJ.
