Joan Johnston Obituary

Joan B. Johnston Ladson - Joan B. Johnston, 87, Ladson, SC, passed away in her sleep surrounded by family. Joan was born on 3 January 1934 to the late Carl and Ethel Bollman (ne;e Rogers) in Akron, OH. She is survived by sons, Joe N. Johnston (Youngin) and James J. Johnston, daughter-in-law, Tammy Johnston ( Mark Johnston's widow) and grandsons, Mark Alan II, Michael E. and Matthew J. Johnston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl E. and son, Mark A. Johnston. Joan was an USAF veteran, serving at Elgin AFB, where she met her husband, Karl. They got married in Pascagoula, MS, on Oct 1, 1955. She followed her husband throughout his AF career until he retired and settled in Ladson, SC. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be sorely missed by all her surviving relatives. Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 14, 2021 from 11:00am to 12:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens. Visit our guestbook at legacy.com/obituaries/charleston
