Ann, we are so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. Our hearts go out to you and the family. He was my Hero! From Alconbury to Moody to Shaw. We travelled a few miles together. Jeannie and I have fond memories of you two together in Sumter. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Mike and Jean Oubre

Although Jerry & I knew each other a short time (1963-65) at Holloman AFB, NM, I remember him well. My sincere condolences to the friends & family.

Mr. Jerry always had a kind word for me. He always had a smile for me as well in passing by as we worked together at VR. Last time I spoke to him before he retired he gave me a big hug and thanked me for all I've done. I will miss him!

Dear Ann, so sorry for your loss. Know how you feel...I loss my husband Al Mercer, in May of last year. He and Jerry were good friends during their AF careers. Know they shared a lot of good times both in Europe and at Shaw. Will keep you in my prayers.

What a wonderful friend and neighbor! He shared his life and life experiences with my family and me, blessing us as an additional parent/grandparent. We considered Jerry and Ann as part of our family. He will be greatly missed but he left us with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. Jerry has been an inspiration. Never complained & just a really great guy. We met before ever seeing each other. He created this wonderful SC clock that found its way to me before we met officially here at Charleston VR. We would laugh & call each other homie. He will certainly be missed but will remain in our hearts always.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ann and her family.

I am so glad that I got to be his nurse ! I will cherish all the pens he made for my son and I. I will miss him at Hollings.

Jerry was one of those special and talented people you meet in life and I am glad to have had the pleasure of getting to know him and work with him at Voc Rehab.

Such a caring,dear, helpful neighbor was he for our Daughter and family for years; so like family was he and his wife,Ann.
We enjoyed conversing with him on our frequent visits. So very talented and interesting a gentleman was he.

Words cannot express how sorry I am to learn of Jerry's death. In five short years he became like family, and though his death was not unexpected, it really hurts. With everything he was going through he remained so strong and dynamic, always upbeat and trying to make everybody else's day better. It usually worked, and even with the sadness I feel now, it's hard to think of him without smiling. I think he would like that. Jerry really was unlike anybody I have ever known and I feel truly blessed to have had him in my life. Rest in peace my friend, I will miss you so very much. My sincere condolences to Ann, his family and his many, many friends.
