Jeanne Alice Spinelli
Mt. Pleasant - Jeanne Alice Spinelli, 61, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Jeanne was born on February 27, 1964, in Malden, Massachusetts, to Louise Gostanian Spinelli and the late Charles Spinelli. She was raised in Waltham, Massachusetts, and was a proud graduate of Waltham High School, Class of 1982. Throughout her life, Jeanne had a rare gift for making friends effortlessly; her sincerity was evident to everyone she met. She was known by all for her strikingly beautiful eyes and a constant, radiant smile that often gave way to a wonderfully silly and playful sense of humor.
Among her many cherished relationships, none were more enduring than her bonds with her best friend, Mary, and her dear friend, Alfredo. Another close friend of hers was Wanda Davis. These friendships spanned decades, remaining a constant source of joy and connection throughout her life.
In 2005, Jeanne moved to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, to be close to the ocean and enjoy the year-round beautiful weather. An adventurer at heart, she traveled often, but found her greatest peace by the water-whether she was fishing or simply sunbathing. In the kitchen, Jeanne was a master; an excellent cook who took pride in preparing meals that brought people together. Most importantly, she was defined by a "hesitation-free" kindness, caring for others without limit and surprising loved ones with thoughtful, perfectly chosen gifts "just because."
Jeanne is survived by her mother, Louise Spinelli of Holly Springs, GA; and her devoted life partner, Martin Calhoun "Cal" Colvin, Jr. of Mount Pleasant, SC. She is also survived by her siblings: Christine Liberti and her husband Michael, Diane Spinelli, Roseanne Warchola and her husband Harry "Bud" Warchola, Charles Spinelli, Richard Spinelli, and Bart Spinelli.
Jeanne cherished her role as an aunt and held her nieces and nephews close to her heart: Christopher and Anthony Liberti, and Brittany, Nicholas, and Hayley Spinelli, and Sylvy Carney. She shared an especially deep and unique bond with her nephew, Jesse Sorel. Jeanne also leaves behind Cal's children, whom she loved as her own: Holly Herring and her husband Forbes and Christopher Colvin and his wife Jessica and their children Emmett, Hadley, Caila, and Mason.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, Charles Spinelli, and her beloved sister, Carole, who welcomed her into heaven.
