James Salvo Obituary

SALVO, James James Vincent Salvo, Sr., 90, of Summerville, SC, widower of Mary B. Salvo, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, March 27, 2007 at Bethany United Methodist Church at eleven o'clock. Burial will be in St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday morning at PARKS FUNERAL HOME from 9:30 until 10:30 o'clock. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 118 West Third South Street, Summerville, SC 29483 or to Summerville Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 592, Summerville, SC 29484. Mr. Salvo was born May 29, 1916 in Charleston County, SC, a son of the late Vincent Y. Salvo and Mary Almeida Salvo. He was retired as a marine machinist at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Pat Wannamaker and husband Copes of North Charleston, SC; two sons, James V. Salvo, Jr., and George A. Salvo and wife Louisa all of Summerville, SC; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements by PARKS FUNERAL HOME, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC. Pat,
So sorry to hear about the recent loss of your Dad. Vincent was a good man who will be missed by a lot of people. I am sorry to say I will be unable to attend the funeral tomorrow. Please tell George, James Jr., and Copes I am thinking about all of you and praying for the Lord to bring you comfort in your time of loss.
