James Nixon Obituary

James Nixon, 87, of State College died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009 at Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in State College.

He was born March 8, 1922, a son of the late James and Jeanette Stecher Nixon. On Sept. 7, 1946, he married Constance Callahan, who preceded him death on Oct. 22, 1999.

Jim honorably served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was also a Free and Accepted Mason and a graduate of Penn State University.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Repotski of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Ruth Anne Beck, Lititz; two sons, James T. Nixon, Marietta, Ga.; and Richard Nixon, State College; one brother, Robert Nixon; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 208 W. Foster Ave., State College, at a time to be announced.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsylvania SPCA, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
