Dear Mugsy and family,

Jim was such a wonderful person--all of these tributes attest to that. He was fun--he was a role model--and he loved you so. His friends meant so much to him too.

We have such great memories of him and will treasure them.

May you find solace and comfort.

Mugsy and Family,
Jim's departure is indeed saddening, but knowing and working with Jim was indeed a pleasure. He was a rare individual having successfully moved from the world of professional athletics to the professional environment of IBM.

We first worked together as Recruiters for IBM at State Colleges and Universities. Our paths crossed frequently when I was responsible for a segment of the Charleston area IBM customers, and Jim worked full time in the Charleston area. He helped me entertain State Senators when I was a full time registered IBM lobbyist to the State Legislature. I will always be grateful for my association with Jim Kerr.

To the sons, daughters, and especially the grandchildren, you should be proud of your Father and Grandfather; he was indeed a Professional, a gentleman, and a true pleasure to know.

The prayers of Snookie and me will be for you, Jim's family, to have peace and comfort as you adjust to life without Jim’s physical presence.

Dear Mugsy & Family,
Jerry and I cannot begin to tell you how sorry we are for your loss. Jim was our friend as well as our neighbor. Our families have grown to know each other so well over the years that it feels like we have lost a family member also. You know we will always be there for you no matter what. Find peace in knowing Jim is with God and He will take good care of him until we all meet again.

The news of Jim's death has greatly saddened both Gerry and me. He was a great friend and mentor to me and frankly I have tried to duplicate his "style" as I have progressed in business.

Jim was the first real manager I had as a young salesman at IBM. Being born in Savannah, Ga. and hearing that I was getting a manager from Pennsylvania was not something I was looking forward to have happen. "A Hard-driving Yankee" I thought to myself is not what I need in a great Southern Town like Charleston. But to my greart surprise along came Jim.

After getting to know he and Mugsy, I changed my whole outlook on the state of Pennsylvania. Jim was just a great teacher and willing to help you do anything to suceed. He was a person you just loved to be around and I often would ask him to accompany me when I had difficult tasks. His easy going nature and common sense handling of problems always would put things in proper prospective. He never showed any "panic". I have always admired that.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during these times,
Ernie Adcock

I wish I knew the words to say to help alleviate your family's pain during this difficult time. I enjoyed having such a stable family as our neighbors in Snee Farm for so long and getting to know you all over the years. I pray in time God will grant you His peace and comfort, but until then I pray He will keep you in the palm of his hand and wipe all your tears away. I'll always remeber Mr. Kerr's sense of humor and the time he told me to wear nothing but white dress shirts at work since they are neutral and can't offend anyone--IBM Jim! I probably should have listended to his wisdom, but at least I do own several white dress shirts!

Please give all the family my love during this time of mourning.

All His best,

Bob
